Biennale di Venezia 2026

We are delighted that several artists who created a column for STOA169 with a column are taking part in this year’s Venice Biennale!

Andreas Angelidakis will be exhibiting at the Greek Pavilion at the Biennale and has created an installation for this purpose which, as an ‘Escape Room’, transforms the pavilion into a modern Platonic cave (9 May – 22 November 2026, Arsenale).

Alfredo Jaar, who previously represented Chile at the Biennale in 2013, has been invited to take part in the 61st International Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, “In Minor Keys”, curated by Koyo Kouoh (Giardini/Arsenale).

On 4 May, the project “XIV Steps”, created by Pedro Cabrita Reis in collaboration with Luca Berta and Michael Short for the Biennale, opens. It comprises a series of fourteen paintings inspired by the Stations of the Cross (4 May – 22 November 2026, Magazzino del Sale 3 / Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia).

Yves Scherer’s works are on display in the opening exhibition “La forma del Sé / Shape of Self” at the new Ca’Riviera art space (9 May – 25 July 2026, Mira/Veneto).
