May 23 , 2019 – Pursuant to an agreement, reached after a joint inspection of the 35,000 sq metre site in February 2019, between Bernd Zimmer and representatives of “Bund Natur”, the plan for revegetation specifies in detail the corrective measures and designs intended to ensure biodiversity. In accordance with the concept of STOA169, that it sees itself as a form of synergy between art and nature, any interference with nature will purely be restricted to the columned hall and the path leading to it. In the course of this, the floor panel of the hall will be laid out as a porous modular system in order to allow water to drain unhindered. The roof of the hall will be planted, and, in order to encourage the development of a species-rich meadow, the surrounding grassland will be pesticide-free; alongside the planting and upkeep of grass and shrubs, the growing of indigenous trees suitable for the area is also planned.
As requested by the Green Party, the revegetation plans of STOA169 will be discussed during a session of the Bavarian state assembly on 25th June. The accompanying plan for landscape conservation can, if so desired, be viewed by appointment at the STOA169 Foundation in Polling. Please contact us for more information.
